Artist inspired retail + residential development, part of a larger overall master plan for this premiere mixed use development outside of Chengdu, China. Multi level exploratory environment based on a fictional artist community history. The story begins with a group of multi disciplinary artists settling on the edge of this beautiful lake, building their own homes and studios using their crafts; wood workers, glass blowers, metal smiths, stone mansons, performance artists. The story continues... the community of artists became very successful and they moved on to larger studios and homes, leasing out their original structures to restaurants, retailers and galleries.
